​Iconography is a religious and artistic tradition spanning throughout and beyond a two-thousand-year history. Described as a holy practice, an expression of love, labor-intensive, not hidden, pointing directly to a lineage given by God's gracious gifts and is bestowed upon us through the incarnation of Jesus Christ. In iconography, He has given us the privilege of returning to Him the rendering of his creation through the holy icons. —From the Catholic tradition

​Our Lady of The Gate of Dawn Workshop 

One of my all time favorite workshops is Our Lady of the Gate of Dawn.

The history of this Mary icon is legendary and miracles have been associated with her for centuries. Originally housed behind one of the Medininkai gates, the painting, Our Lady of the Gate of Dawn, (above) was venerated as a shrine, believed to protect the city and those who passed through the gate.

Divine Mercy - This was a great experience and technical exercise for me. When I painted this miraculous image, I was in a particularly distressed state to start, but soon found myself in a place of deep peace and serenity. It still amazes me how painting Christ this way can shift everything upward in such a profound way. Join me, no matter your background.
